Tips to the guide and driver

1 - Friday: Depart to Turkey
Departure from Canada to Istanbul.

2 - Saturday: Arrival in Istanbul (D)
Upon arrival you will be met and assisted to your hotel. Prior to group dinner at the hotel Aziyade 4*, your guide will present a briefing about Turkey and the tour itinerary.

3 - Sunday: Istanbul (BLD)
Visit the Blue Mosque, distinguished by its six minarets, and the Hippodrome where political, social and sports activities took place during Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman times. Proceed to another world heritage, the Hagia Sophia, built in the 6th century, and Topkapi Palace, the residence of the Ottoman Sultans. Overnight at the hotel Aziyade 4*.

4 - Monday: Istanbul (BL)
Visit the Spice Market to experience the full aroma of an oriental food bazaar, board the private boat for 1.5 hour cruise on the Bosphorus. Lunch at a seafood restaurant on the shores of the Bosphorus. Return to the old city to see Chora Church (Kariye Mosque) with captivating biblical mosaics and frescoes from the Byzantine era. Next stop is the historical Grand Bazaar to shop and linger in. Overnight at the hotel Aziyade 4*.

5 - Tuesday: Istanbul/Ankara (BLD) - 280miles
Early morning, drive to Ankara, the Turkish capital since 1923. After lunch, visit The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations for its rich and unique collections from the Hittites and the others who went over this soil. We will briefly stop at the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the father of modern Turkey. Overnight at the hotel Radisson Sas 4*.

6 - Wednesday: Ankara/Hattusas/Cappadocia (BLD) - 255miles
Today, drive to Bogazkale- Hattusas, the capital of the powerful Hittites, where numerous cuneiform tablets were discovered. Also visit the rock sanctuary of Yazilikaya with friezes and reliefs depicting the Hittite divinities. Continue South into central Anatolia to the volcanic region of Cappadocia . Overnight at the hotel Peri Tower 4*.

7 - Thursday: Cappadocia (BLD) - 30 miles
Entire day is to explore Cappadocia. Visit the Red Valley; Goreme Valley, an open-air museum with rock-cut churches adorned with fine frescoes. Learn about the art and crafts of rural Turkey at a handicraft center and attend a lecture on the Turkish art of hand weaving and rugs culture. Next is the Underground City and there are photo stops at Uchisar and Avcilar, for best vista points of the region. Tonight, participate in Whirling Dervishes Ceremony, a memorable experience. Overnight at the hotel Peri Tower 4*.

8 - Friday: Cappadocia/Konya (BLD) - 140 milesOptional hot air balloon ride by dawn over the volcanic landscape of Cappadocia is recommended. A short hiking on Cappadocia's unique soil is scheduled pre lunch. Then we drive to Konya, en route stop at the Sultanhani Caravanserai of the 13th century. In Konya, visit the Museum of Mevlana, the founder of the Sufi Order of the Whirling Dervishes in the 13th century. Overnight at the hotel Dedeman Konya 5*.

9 - Saturday: Konya/Beysehir/Antalya (BLD) - 265 milesDrive to Beysehir, a small settlement on the shores of the Beysehir Lake. Visit Esrefoglu Mosque to adore this wooden masterpiece from the 13th century. Continue to Egirdir, another lake for lunch on the shores. Drive to Antalya in the afternoon. Overnight at the Hotel Ramada Plaza 5*

10 - Sunday: Antalya (BLD) - 55 miles
Today, two magnificent Roman sites are on our agenda; Aspendos with the best preserved Roman Theater and Perge, a spectacular Greco-Roman city. On the return to Antalya, discover the tradition of jewelry making on this soil while visiting one of the largest jewelers of Turkey. Later in the afternoon, Old Antalya - Kaleici will be visited to enjoy strolling through picturesque streets of the old port. Overnight at the hotel Ramada Plaza 5*.

11 - Monday: Antalya (BLD) - 180 miles
Excursion today is to the West. First, to the ancient city of Myra with impressive Lycian rock-cut tombs. Then Demre, to visit the Church of St Nicholas. After lunch, stop at Phaselis -another ancient city on the sea -you can also enjoy a swim in the Mediterranean waters - weather permitting. Drive back to Antalya. Overnight at the hotel Ramada Plaza 5*.

12 - Tuesday: Antalya/Pamukkale (BLD) - 205 miles
Leaving Antalya behind, cross the Taurus Mountains, to Sagalassos - Greco-Roman city, a recently excavated archeological gem of Turkey. Following lunch, drive to Pamukkale the "Cotton Castle", an antique spa, Hierapolis -still in use today, with the white water terraces of limestone deposits by the thermal waters through the ages -an unreal landscape. The necropolis -the antique cemetery- here, is one of the largest to our day from the ancient world. Overnight at the hotel Pam Thermal 4*.

13 - Wednesday: Pamukkale (BLD) - 115 miles
Drive to Aphrodisias, the ancient site dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of Beauty, Love and Fertility, also famous for its school of sculpture. The stadium, is the best preserved one in Anatolia. Other sights include the Temple of Aphrodite, the Tetrapylon, the Theatre, and the Museum. After lunch, stop at Laodicea, a recently excavated ancient city. Return to Pamukkale to enjoy the hot spring spa at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel Pam Thermal 4*.

14 - Thursday: Pamukkale/Ephesus/Kusadasi (BLD) - 165 miles
Today we go through the plain of the Meander River to another World Heritage; Ephesus. The site today is one of the best places of the world to visualize an ancient Roman city. Stop for a shot at the remains of the Temple of Artemis - which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After lunch, visit the House of Virgin Mary on the heights of Ephesus. The site is declared a pilgrimage site by the Vatican. Today, we will have spare time for Turkish leather art. Tonight, participate in a farewell dinner to share the memories of an unforgettable trip. Overnight at the hotel Korumar 5*.

15 - Friday: Kusadasi/Çanakkale (BLD) - 240 miles
Drive north, to Bergama - Pergamum of ancient times. Parchment was invented here. Proceed to the ancient site, visit the Acropolis and the Asclepion -home of Galen, a sanctuary with a healing center dedicated to Asclepius -the god of healing. After lunch, drive on to Canakkale in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel Akol 4*. 16 - Saturday: Çanakkale/Istanbul (BL) - 205 miles Visit the legendary Troy to recall Homer and Iliad. Drive back to the water and cross over to Europe by ferry on the Strait of the Dardanelles. After Lunch at Gelibolu, continue to Istanbul. Overnight at the hotel Aziyade 4*.

17 - Sunday: Departure to Canada (B)
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
